Although originally from Nova Scotia and of settler descent, I am grateful beyond measure to currently be living in Chief Drygeese Territory (Yellowknife). Prior to moving to Yellowknife in 2024, I spent several years living in the Yukon on the traditional territory of White River First Nation. I moved to the Yukon from Nunavut, living in both Kinngait and Iqaluit. I have been immensely privileged to have spent the majority of the last decade in the north and getting to visit and be part of such vibrant communities.
Outside of work, you can often find me outside with my dog Breton, singing along to 2000s hip hop, watching true crime documentaries, or reality TV and forever trying to perfect my sourdough skills.
Genuine, warm and collaborative relationships are the foundation of my clinical practice. I believe in the importance of connection, and in accepting people as they are, wherever they are. I believe building trust takes time, and that there is no “one size fits all” solution. My own therapy has hugely influenced my approach to counselling, having experienced how important it is to be met with true warmth and non-judgement while engaging in efforts towards healing. I strive to work from a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive lens.
Currently, the majority of my clinical work is trauma-related, focusing on complex trauma, abuse and attachment trauma. However, I also work with individual’s experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship difficulties and a range of other presentations.
